Stay in control of your costs when you're working abroad

Now it's even easier to keep track of costs when you access the internet abroad. In most countries you'll pay by the day to browse the web, check your inbox and send email. How much you pay will depend on:

• The country you're visiting
• How you access the internet - on your phone or laptop
• How much data (MBs) you use when you're online.

How does it work?

Daily data roaming is automatically available if you don't have one of our data roaming price plans. You'll receive a welcome text message when you turn on your phone in the country you're visiting – or via the Vodafone Mobile Connect dashboard on your laptop. It'll tell you how much you'll pay for using data while you're in that country.
Vodafone will also send you a text to tell you when you're close to your data limit, and when it's almost midnight in the UK –days are charged from midnight to 11:59pm UK time.

Is it right for me?

Daily data roaming is ideal if you need to work abroad but don't want to commit to a data roaming contract. It provides a simple, cost effective alternative to hotel or business lounge internet connections.
Additional Data Roaming Bundle for Handheld Devices
If your destination is within the Rest of the World zone we can add a data bundle for handheld devices in order to help reduce costs while abroad. The bundle is £15 for 30 days, which gives you a 10MB data roaming allowance. If this 10MB is then exceeded the charges above apply.
Please note this bundle is only compatible with selected price plans so please call the office in order to discuss the options available.

What you need to know

Your device may be set up to download small amounts of data automatically, such as email, applications updates and live data feeds. Please check how your phone is configured prior to travel.
If you're using your laptop while overseas, install the latest version of Vodafone Mobile Connect > so that you receive the latest daily data roaming reminders.

EU Data Roaming Spend Cap

From 1 March 2010 under European Legislation Vodafone have set up a limit on data roaming spend within the European Union of £43, after which point data use will be blocked. If you wish to ‘Opt Out’ of this data roaming cap, please either call the office and we will arrange this for you or alternatively simply reply to the welcome message received from Vodafone once you arrive at your destination and select the ‘Opt Out’ option.
